The aftermath of the official announcement of the entrance ban of the Russian 2017 Eurovision representative Julia Samoilova, by SBU, sees the Eurovision community in turmoil and strong debates. The EBU’s statement is followed now by the following UA:PBC statement. 

UA:PBC reacts to the SBU decision

The statement by UA:PBC (NUT) is as follows:

The National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine as the Host broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, is and will continue to implement the decisions of the Government of Ukraine, including the decision of SBU, to prohibit the entry to Ukraine, to the citizen of the Russian Federation, Julia Samoilova. However, we announce that the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, continue in intensive mode.

Recall that Julia Samoilova – is a singer who was chosen to represent Channel 1 – of the Russian Federation at Eurovision 2017
