Italy’s Sanremo Music Festival 2017 continues this evening with the third night of the long-running event. Both the Campioni and Nuove Proposte events will take place tonight, but which acts will qualify to night 4 of the festival?

Night 3 of Sanremo 2017 airs from 20:35 CET on the following channels:

Tonight’s show will run for just under 4 hours, finishing at 00:30 CET.

Tonight’s show

This evening sees the continuation of both the Campioni as well as the Nuove Proposte categories of the competition.

Campioni

Tonight’s Big Artist event will take place in 2 parts this evening; the cover contest and the elimination round.

In the cover round of the competition, the 16 direct qualifiers from night 1 and 2 of Sanremo 2017 will perform a cover song of a known national hit of their choice to the public and press jury.

The winner of the cover contest will be determined in 2 parts; the top 4 will qualify to the second round of the cover competition, the winner of which will be awarded a special prize for the evening.

The remaining 6 acts from the first 2 nights of Sanremo 2017 will compete in the elimination round of the contest.

The votes from the previous 2 nights will be reset, in which both the public televote and press jury will both have a 50% say in which acts should qualify to the next stage of the competition. The top 4 will qualify, whilst the remaining 2 acts will be eliminated from the contest.

Nuove Proposte

The last 4 participants in the Newcomers’ competition will compete in the second show of this category.

Voting remains the same as from last night’s Nuove Proposte show; the top 2 acts who will qualify to tomorrow night’s show will be determined via a 50% televote and 50% press jury vote, whilst the bottom 2 acts will be eliminated from the show.
