Bulgaria’s internal search for their Eurovision 2017 entry ended on the 20 January and BNT says it is looking promising.

Bulgaria’s broadcaster BNT, has decided to opt for an internal selection to choose their act for Eurovision 2017. The broadcaster has shortlisted 6 songs for the final phase of selection out of 10 entries received.

BNT has released Word Cloud with all the 6 songs names. The broadcaster also mentions that there are 3 male performers and 3 female performers which have been shortlisted.

Gery-Nikol for Kyiv?

It is rumored that Gery-Nikol will represent the nation in the upcoming Eurovision song contest in Ukraine. BNT said that they were in contact with her team and that it is up to her to chose if she would like to send a project. The broadcaster the announced it’s selection method on the 20 December.

Bulgaria in Eurovision

Bulgaria participated 10 times in Eurovision; they debuted in 2005 when Ukraine hosted for the first time. Since then, they have managed to qualify only twice; in 2007 and 2016.

The country’s highest score was in 2016 when Poli Genova returned to the contest with her song If love was a crime after taking part in 2011 with Na inat and scored 4th with 307 points.
