The stage for this year's Eurovision Song Contest is being constructed by the British company Stage One responsible for the construction of last year's Helsinki stage as well as the greek Eurovision stage in 2006.

The inspiration of this year's stage is based on the geographical location of Belgrade which is at the confluence of two rivers under the Avala mountain.

"We will try to depict two rivers joining each other as e they become one on the stage," says director of graphical design at this year's Eurovision Goran Joksimović; (no relation to eljko).

"We treat this part of Europe as a mix and clash of cultures but during Eurovision all cultures will be joined by the confluence" says Joksimović. He adds, "The effect of the rivers will be made possible by see-through LCD screens which will be located around the Arena from top to bottom."

Also, "Behind the stage there will be 300 square metres of LCD screens. The width of the stage will be 25 metres while the length will be 25.5 metres. Its height will be 10- 12 metres."

The stage will start to be set up on April 25th. This job will last for 10 days.
