Finland: Three more UMK 16 finalists chosen

Three more acts have advanced to the final of UMK 16 following the second semi-final.

Tonights show saw the second group of six acts perform their songs live for the first time.

In this semi-final, Mikael Saari returned to UMK following his second place finish in 2013. His song We should be through finished as runner up to Krista Siegfrid’s Marry me.

Kimmo Blom also made his second appearance in the Finnish national final, having competed in 2015 under the stage name Angelo DeNile. He finished 5th in the final with his song All for victory.

Mikael Saari, Kimmo Blom & Annica Milan and Cristal Snow were the lucky acts chosen to advance to the final. The qualifiers were chosen by a public vote alone.

The qualifiers from tonights show will join Eini, Saara Aalto and Stella Christine in the UMK final. The final three spots in the final will be decided in the third semi-final, which takes place next week.

UMK 16 schedule

Last year, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

Their entry, Aina mun pitää, failed to impress and the group finished last in their semi-final.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Finland will perform in the first half of the first semi-final.
