The Swedish broadcaster SVT has announced that the participants of Melodifestivalen 2016 will be revealed in a special press conference to be held on Monday, 30 November, at 9:00 CET.

Unlike previous years, where the artists were revealed in two press conferences (one for Semifinals 1+2 and one for Semifinals 3+4 two days later), this year only one press conference will be held.

Reports on Melodifestivalen 2016 artists so far suggested that Ace Wilder, Oscar Zia, Samir & Viktor, Linda Bengtzing and Molly Sanden will come back to the upcoming contest, as well as Lisa Ajax and the rock band Eclipse. The only act confirmed so far is Smajling Swedes, who got the ticket to Melodifestivalen by qualifying from the radio talent program Svensktoppen Nästa.

Melodifestivalen 2016 will run for six weeks running from 6 February to the final on 13 March. Gina Dirawi will host the contest with various stars that will join her every week. The winner will go to represent Sweden in Eurovision 2016.
