Germany: Bild readers want Helene Fischer to Stockholm

The readers of the German tabloid Bild have been asked to vote for their favourite act to represent Germany in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, after the decision not to send Xavier Naidoo to Stockholm.

A total of 50,000 people took part in the poll, and the results are as following:

  • Helene Fischer (24%)
  • The Cashier (23%)
  • Rammstein (16%)
  • Andreas Bourani (15%)
  • The Fantastic Four (6%)
  • Stefan Raab (6%)
  • Sido (5%)
  • Lena Meyer-Landrut (3%)
  • Nicole (1%)
  • Ann Sophie (1%)

Helene Fischer is one of the most successful artists in Germany. Having seven studio albums, her 2013 album Farbenspiel is the most legally downloaded album of all times by a German artist. Watch the clip of Atemlos durch die Nacht from Farbenspiel, that managed to reach the Top 5 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg, as well as to chart in Belgium.

Will Helene save the Eurovision for Germany? The German broadcaster ARD is yet to announce its new plans for Eurovision 2016.
