Peter Settman has announced his departure from the Eurovision Asia project, stepping down from his role as CEO of Voxovation. The production company, which he co-founded with Eurovision veteran Christer Björkman, was responsible for developing the Asian version of the Song Contest. Settman cites personal reasons for his resignation.

Swedish television personality and producer Peter Settman has confirmed his resignation as CEO of Voxovation, the company spearheading the development of the Eurovision Song Contest’s Asian adaptation. Settman co-founded Voxovation alongside long-time Eurovision producer Christer Björkman, with the aim of bringing the beloved competition format to a new continent.

Bjorkman and Settman were also involved in the launch of the American Song Contest

In a statement to Kulturnyheterna via SMS, Settman revealed that his decision to step down was made ‘for personal reasons’. His departure marks a significant development for the Eurovision Asia project, which has been in various stages of planning and development for some time.

Hence Peter Settman will not be involved in Eurovision Asia, he will step down as the CEO of Voxovation but will remain in the company as a owner and consultant.

Peter Settman says:

I chose to resign for personal reasons, but am fully available to everyone in the project and committed to making it a huge success.

The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia is set to take place on November 14, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand, with an initial lineup of ten participating countries. Christer Björkman remains a key figure in the Voxovation team, and further details regarding the future leadership of the company and the progression of Eurovision Asia are expected to emerge in due course.
