Söngvakeppnin, the Icelandic national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest will begin this coming Saturday, 31 January. In this special article we are going to be introducing all of the 12 competing acts.
Stefanía Svavarsdóttir is a singer who first entered the music scene at the age of 16 when she won a national music contest.
Since her contest victory, Stefanía has performed at a number of events and performed alongside many artists including the 1995 Icelandic representative Björgvin Halldórsson.
In 2013, Stefanía participated in the Icelandic national selection Söngvakeppnin alongside the Faroese singer Jógvan Hansen. With their entry Til þín, they qualified to the final of the selection, however the duo failed to get through to the superfinal stage of the contest.
At this year’s Söngvakeppnin selection, Stefanía will perform as a solo artist with her entry Augnablik.
