NDR, the German broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that Germany will participate at the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

The German broadcaster will release more information and details regarding the 2017 German Eurovision project in the coming months along with the mechanism it will use to select the 2017 German Eurovision act and entry.

Thus Germany joins France, Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Norway and Ukraine all whom have confirmed their participation at next year’s Eurovision edition in Ukraine.

In 2016 Jamie-Lee represented Germany at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Ghost.

Germany debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has won the event twice; in 1982 with Nicole and in 2010 with Lena.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 16, 18 and 20 May.
