Eurovision 2016: Will Sanna Nielsen host the contest?

The 2014 Swedish Eurovision representative Sanna Nielsen is all set to host the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest if asked.

Sanna Nielsen will be more than happy to host the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest if she’s asked to do so. She joins this year’s Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlöw who has also said that if he is given the chance to host the event, he would grab the opportunity and do it.

SVT is running a report on Sanna Nielsen’s interview on Expresen’s Kvällsposten, where she speaks about the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. During the interview the Swedish singer is asked if she would like to host the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, to which Sanna answered:

Obviously I’d like to, if I’m asked!

SVT is yet to reveal the names of the 2016 Eurovision hosts. Petra Mede (Eurovision 2013 host) and Mans Zelmerlöw are among the hot favorites to get the job, followed by Sarah Dawn Finer and Gina Dirawi on SVT’s online poll.

Sanna Nielsen has competed in the Swedish Eurovision national heats (Melodifestivalen) many times. She finally won Melodifestivalen last year and went on to represent Sweden at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Undo, achieving a 3rd place in the grand final.

This year she co-hosted the 2015 Swedish Eurovision national selection- Melodifestivalen with Robin Paulsson. Sanna also travelled to Vienna as part of the Swedish delegation and was one of the commentators for SVT at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Globen Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
