Tonight the first semi-final of Eesti Laul 2014, the Estonian national selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest, will air on Estonian broadcaster ERR’s television channel ETV.
The Show
A total of 20 songs are competing to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest, with ten songs being performed in each of the two semi finals. Five songs from each semi final will reach the final, which takes place on 1 March. Both a jury panel and public vote will determine the result.

The contestants
Lenna Kuurmaa, who previously represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 as the lead singer of Vanilla Ninja, is one of the ten acts competing in tonight’s semi final. The full list and running order can be seen below

Estonia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and has since won the contest on one occasion, in 2001 with Tanel Padar and Dave Benton’s entry Everybody. Last year, Estonia were represented by Birgit Oigemeel, who finished 20th with 19 points at the Eurovision Song Contest grand final in Sweden.
