Helena Paparizou was a woman who had a date with destiny. She came to Kiev with the song of My number one and indeed took poll position as she gave Greece their first ever win. She had previously come third with Antique in 2001 and as a solo artist 2005 saw her take the grand prix which she had vowed to conquer one day. Such was the power of her performance that she saw off all other competition and pretenders to the crown with her incredibly catchy and infectious song which certainly is remembered as one of the most deserved winners of the noughties so far. 2014 sees Paparizou compete with the Bobby Ljunggren track Survivor as she bids to represent Sweden at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
