The year was 2003, the stage was in Riga and the controversial Tatu were representing Russia. In the build up to the contest reports of inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour were rife. They received a warning from the EBU that any salacious behaviour on stage would be reprimanded severely. They took to the stage to a throng of boos. Although already international stars across the globe this didn’t translate down to the Eurovision viewers and they settled for 3rd place.
