Luxembourg has officially opened submissions for its national final, the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 (LSC), which will select the country’s representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Aspiring artists and songwriters can now put themselves forward for the fourth edition of the show, set to take place in the Rockhal in late January 2027.

Luxembourg Song Contest 2027: The National Final

Since its highly anticipated return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024, the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) has served as the nation’s dedicated national final. It is through this exciting event that the Grand Duchy decides who will proudly represent them on the international Eurovision stage.

The fourth edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 30, 2027, at the renowned Rockhal in Esch-Belval. This announcement follows the Luxembourgish government’s decision to guarantee funding for the country’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest for the next three editions, ensuring their presence until at least 2029.

How to Apply: Artists and Songwriters

Artists and songwriters interested in participating in the LSC 2027 can now submit their applications via the official Luxembourgish Eurovision website. Notably, the selection process features two parallel application streams for artists and songs, allowing for greater flexibility and opportunity for local talent.

Artists and composers wishing to compete at the ESC 2027 can submit their respective songs/ entries and register here.

Artist Applications

Artists are encouraged to apply even without a song ready in advance. The application window for artists opened on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and will close on Monday, September 20, 2026, at 11:59 PM CET.

To be eligible as an artist, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Fulfill at least one of these three conditions demonstrating a strong connection to Luxembourg:
    • Hold Luxembourgish nationality.

    • Be able to prove strong ties to the Luxembourgish music scene, for example, by regularly performing at festivals or other events within Luxembourg.
  • Be available between November 2026 and May 2027 for all preparatory and promotional activities related to the LSC and Eurovision.
  • Possess strong live performance abilities and feel comfortable on a large stage, with a maximum of six people allowed on stage.

Auditions for the pre-selected artists are planned for mid-October 2026, where an international jury of Eurovision experts will assess the candidates.

Songwriter Applications

Songwriters and composers have a separate application process for submitting original songs for consideration. The deadline for song submissions is Thursday, October 29, 2026.

A Pairing Workshop to unite artists and songs

Artists and selected songs will converge during a Pairing Workshop, scheduled for late October/early November.

During the workshop, artists will receive guidance from industry experts, including coaches, musicians, and Eurovision specialists, to select the song that best showcases their artistic identity and enhances their chances of success at Eurovision. The chosen song may be the artist’s own composition or one submitted by another songwriter.

At the end of this collaborative process, the finalists for the Luxembourg Song Contest will be selected, ready to prepare for the competition.
