Canada’s chances of debuting at the Eurovision Song Contest are more realistic than ever since its national broadcaster CBC/Radio Canada has been granted a FULL EBU Membership. Will we see the country debut at the Eurovision Song Contest next year in Bulgaria? We will have to wait a tad longer to see if CBC confirms its participation at the ESC 2027 and joins the Eurovision family next May.

The Canadian government seems to be keen for Canada to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Canadian federal government had included the Eurovision Song Contest in its budget: Canada will explore participating in the popular Eurovision song contest.

Canada’s Eurovision connection

Many Canadians have competed at the Eurovision Song Contest in the past, but representing other countries, notably the most famous act has been Celine Dion who represented Switzerland at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin with her epic entry ‘Ne partez pas sans moi‘ and went on to win the contest.

The 2027 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held next May in Bulgaria, with the dates and host city yet to be officially confirmed.
