A historic triumph for Bulgaria

DARA’s win at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with ‘Bangaranga’ has been hailed as a monumental achievement for Bulgaria. The infectious party anthem topped both the national jury and public votes, marking a significant milestone for the Balkan nation.

During the special reception at the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Rumen Radev extended his heartfelt congratulations to DARA and her team. He praised her energy, strength, and immense talent, stating that her victory was not only personal but brought immense joy and national pride to the entire country.

Looking ahead to Eurovision 2027

The meeting also served as the initial step towards Bulgaria’s preparations for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. Prime Minister Radev emphasised that DARA’s success provides a unique opportunity for Bulgaria to showcase itself on the international stage.

Discussions included the formation of an interdepartmental organisational committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov, to coordinate the extensive preparations for the 2027 contest.
