Swedish national broadcaster SVT has officially announced the dynamic duo who will guide viewers through Melodifestivalen 2027. Actor Björn Kjellman is set to make his debut as a host, while the familiar face of Oscar Zia makes a highly anticipated comeback to the Mello stage.
A New Duo for Sweden’s Biggest Show
SVT confirms that Björn Kjellman and Oscar Zia will be the hosts for Melodifestivalen 2027, the Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. This exciting announcement promises a blend of fresh energy and beloved experience for the highly anticipated competition.
For Björn Kjellman, this marks his debut as a Melodifestivalen host. While it’s his first time leading the show, Kjellman is no stranger to the Melodifestivalen universe; he previously competed as an artist in 2006 with the song ‘Älskar du livet‘ and has been a well-known fan and commentator for many years.
Returning to the hosting role is Oscar Zia, a fan favourite who has a rich history with Melodifestivalen. Zia has competed as an artist twice, in 2014 with ‘Yes We Can‘ and in 2016 with ‘Human‘, where he finished as runner-up. He also successfully hosted the entire competition in 2022, following a guest co-hosting appearance in 2021.
The combination of Kjellman’s debut and Zia’s seasoned experience is expected to bring a unique and engaging dynamic to the stage, as Sweden gears up for another thrilling edition of its national selection. Planning for Melodifestivalen 2027 is already underway, with the show set to commence on Saturday, February 6th.
