A familiar face is making a comeback to the Eurovision stage, but this time, not as a performer. Safura, Azerbaijan’s 2010 Eurovision star, will be announcing her country’s jury points during the Grand Final of Eurovision 2025 on May 17.

Azerbaijan’s national broadcaster, İTV (İctimai Television), has confirmed that singer Safura Alizadeh will serve as the country’s official spokesperson for the Grand Final. The announcement was made through a post on İTV’s social media channels, adding a spark of nostalgia for Eurovision fans who remember her striking performance over a decade ago.

From Drip Drop to Jury Voice of 2025

Safura captured international attention in 2010 when she represented Azerbaijan in Oslo with the song Drip Drop. Her powerful vocals and emotional delivery earned her a fifth-place finish and 145 points in total. Among the highlights that year were four maximum 12-point scores from Bulgaria, Malta, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Now, 15 years later, Safura is returning to the Eurovision spotlight, and this time to reveal the results of the Azerbaijani jury live during the Grand Final. Her role as spokesperson adds a sense of continuity and charm to this year’s contest, especially for long-time fans.

She joins the growing list of confirmed spokespersons for Eurovision 2025, which includes former Eurovision representatives such as San Marino’s Senhit and Spain’s Chanel.

Mamagama set to perform in semi-final 1

This year, Azerbaijan is being represented by the group Mamagama with their song Run with u. They are set to compete in the first semi-final on 13 May, performing 10th in the lineup.
