Austria’s national broadcaster, ORF, has officially opened its submission window for artists and songs hoping to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Aspiring participants have until September 18th to submit their entries to ORF. This comes as the Eurovision Song Contest prepares to head to Burgas, Bulgaria, following Bulgaria’s victory in Vienna.
The search for Austria’s next Eurovision hopeful is officially underway, with ORF inviting musicians and acts of all genres to put themselves forward for the 2027 contest. Submissions are open from today, September 1st, until September 18th.
Artists interested in representing Austria are encouraged to submit one or more meaningful songs or demos, along with information on their previous musical works and live performance experience. Contact details and links to their websites and social media channels are also required.
A significant rule change for the upcoming contest is the adjustment of the minimum age requirement for participants. All artists must now be at least 18 years old on the day of their first rehearsal, an increase from the previous age limit of 16. This change has been implemented by the EBU to safeguard and protect younger artists from the pressures associated with competing in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2027 is set to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, following Bulgaria’s triumph at the 2026 contest held in Vienna. The host city was confirmed after a competitive bidding process, with Burgas ultimately selected to stage the event. Arena Burgas, with a capacity for up to 15,000 spectators, will be the venue for the contest, which is scheduled for May 11, 13, and 15, 2027.
