CBC/Radio-Canada opened applications on 31st August 2026, seeking an established performer with a proven track record of captivating large live audiences. Interested Canadian citizens or permanent residents aged 18 or over have until Wednesday, 9th September 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT to submit their applications via the official CBC/Radio-Canada Eurovision portal.
The selection process will be multi-staged, beginning with an initial assessment by CBC/Radio-Canada to determine a shortlist of finalists. These finalists are expected to be announced in the autumn, after which Canadians will have an active role in choosing their representative through a digital public vote, combined with a music industry jury vote. The chosen artist will then work with industry heavyweights to develop Canada’s debut Eurovision song and performance, with the final announcement expected by late autumn 2026.
