Hej från Sverige! Our hearts beat tonight from Stockholm, where the very last national final event of the season will be held! Our long trip around Sweden is coming to an end, with the Grand Final of the country’s annual selection show Melodifestivalen!
Twelve qualified acts will take to the stage of Friends Arena tonight, all hoping to be the ones who will fly to Israel in May in order to provide Sweden with yet another high placing on the final scoreboard.
The participants
8 of these entries qualified from the 4 semi-final evenings, that were staged in several cities outside Stockholm, while the rest 4 were the winners of the Andra Chansen round, which took place last Saturday in Nyköping. The running order of tonight’s final is as follows:
- Jon Henrik Fjällgren – Norrsken (Goeksegh)
- Lisa Ajax – Torn
- Mohombi – Hello
- Lina Hedlund – Victorious
- Bishara – On my own
- Anna Bergendahl – Ashes to ashes
- Nano – Chasing rivers
- Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO – Hold you
- Malou Prytz – I do me
- John Lundvik – Too late for love
- Wiktoria – Not with me
- Arvingarna – I do
Marika Carlsson, Eric Saade, Sarah Dawn Finer and Kodjo Akolor will be returning as hosts of the Melodifestivalen show, having admittedly had a very successful course in this year’s competition.
Unlike in the semi-finals and the Second Chance round, tonight’s outcome will be determined both by the public, as well as an international jury which will be consisting of members from Portugal, Austria, Australia, Cyprus, France, Finland, the United Kingdom and Israel. The spokespersons who are going to announce each jury panel’s results are:
- Portugal – Carla Bugalho
- Austria – Marvin Dietmann
- Australia – Stephanie Werrett
- Cyprus – Evi Papamichael
- France – Bruno Berberes
- Finland – Krista Siegfrids
- United Kingdom – Simon Proctor
- Israel – Dana International
Both voting bodies will contribute equally to the formation of the eventual result.
