Are you ready for the #LaForzaChallenge? One month before this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, it seems that the Estonian 2018 contestant Elina Nechayeva has found quite an innovative way for the promotion of her entry, with her entire audience being involved!
A few hours ago, the Estonian delegation announced that we are all invited to create and post a cover of Elina’s Eurovision song La forza. This automatically makes us competitors in her challenge which will crown the best ones!
How does it work?
There isn’t any limitation when it comes to the content of each participating cover. You may rely on your voice, your instruments, your dancing skills and of course your friends’ cooperation, as this could also be a teamwork. According to the press release, “the only limit is your imagination”!
The candidate videos may be posted on all social media, using the hashtag #LaForzaChallenge. Via a 3-minute video uploaded by the national Estonian broadcaster ETV on YouTube, Elina sends her thanks to all her fans for the support she has received so far during her Eurovision journey and describes the #LaForzaChallenge procedure that is right ahead!
Each partaker is kindly requested to leave a comment with a link to his/her respective cover under this video. Every week, the Estonian soprano is supposed to choose several of her most favourites, and eventually the author of the best one will receive one signed copy of her CD single La forza.
Elina Nechayeva has reportedly decided to run this project, in order to disseminate the message of her song’s lyrics, which is the meaning of real love!
Estonia at Eurovision
The Baltic country of Estonia entered the Eurovision project in 1994 and has missed only one contest since, namely in 1995. Estonia has seen mixed fortunes in the competition, as it has ended up in the Top 10 nine times, including one victory in 2001, with Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL singing Everybody.
The latest Top 10 finishing for Estonia was back in 2015, when Elina Born and Stig Rästa came 7th with the song Goodbye to yesterday. However, the country has also experienced a total of nine semi-final eliminations, since the system’s introduction in 2004.
Following their national selection event Eesti Laul the previous month, the Estonians decided to send the soprano singer Elina Nechayeva to Lisbon with the Italian-lyric song La forza. According to the semi-finals running order revealed earlier today, Estonia is set to appear 9th in the first semi-final evening on 8 May.
