The Eurovision Song Contest reaches households beyond Europe, from Australia to Argentina, from China to New Zealand, from USA to India etc.
The Azerbaiajani Postcard
Aisel, the 2018 Azerbaijani Eurovision representative will be depicted flying on a hot air balloon in her Eurovision postcard. The Azerbaijani postcard has been filmed in Monsaraz, south west of Portugal.
The city of Reguengos de Monsaraz in Alentejo was the setting chosen for the recording of Aisel’s postcard.
Reguengos de Monsaraz is a city with an impressive natural beauty, characterized by its plains, megalithic monuments and gastronomy. Reguengos de Monsaraz has the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva Dam. In her postcard, Aisel finds a door in the middle of a plain. As she walks through the door, the artist discovers a hot air and embarks on an adventure. Aisel will be seen admiring the magnificent landscapes of the region from the sky in her Eurovision postcard.
After filming her postcard Aisel commented:
I feel lucky, because my postcard was filmed in this extraordinary place called Monsaraz. The unique experience of Monsaraz was completed by the balloon flight over the largest artificial lake in Europe and the infinite fields. I have to admit that before flying I was a little afraid … However, when we started to float in the air, the fear disappeared and I loved this wonderful trip. Last but not least, the staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful! I cannot wait to see the final result!
