A member of one of the most iconic girl-groups in the world, former Spice Girls-member has had success both within the band as well as as a solo artist.
Following the Spice Girls’ split in the year 2000, Melanie C pressed on with her solo career, selling over 20 million albums throughout her career and charting in the UK charts 12 times.
Some of her biggest hits in years to follow include First day of my life, I turn to you, Never be the same again and Northern star.
This is not the first time that Aalto and Mel C have shared an event together, having previously performed at the UK’s Manchester Pride back in August 2017.
Speaking of her delight at meeting the British singer-songwriter once again, Aalto revealed:
The Spice Girls have been a big influence as to why I’m here now. When I was 10 when I saw them in the telecottage, I realised that I wanted to do that, and then I began to compose songs in English. Their shows and choreography also made an unmistakable impression. They shaped my thoughts about the kind of pop that I want to be. Now it feels completely unbelievable that Mel C will be present at my show.
UMK 2018 will take place on the 3 March at the Espoo Metro Areena, in which 3 songs will battle for the right to become the next Finnish entry at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
Finland will compete in the second half of the first semi-final on the 8 May, performing for a place in the final of the competition on the 12 May in the host city of Lisbon.
