Germany: Lena returns with If I Wasn’t Your Daughter

German artist and 2010 Eurovision winner Lena Meyer-Landrut is back with If I wasn’t your daughter.

If I wasn’t your daughter by Lena is a very personal song as it deals with the singer’s rocky relationship with her estranged father, who left the family when Lena was six years old. The song will be featured on Lena’s upcoming new album, Gemini.

Lena also released the official video’s for Catapult (featuring Kat Vinter and Little Simz) and Home, both songs taken from her album Crystal sky (2015), but never officially released until now.

About Lena

Lena Johanna Therese Meyer-Landrut (Hannover, Germany, 1991) is a German singer-songwriter and TV personality. Her grandfather was Estonian-born West-German ambassador to the Soviet Union in Moscow Andreas Meyer-Landrut, while her grandmother Hanna Karatsony von Hodos was of Hungarian nobility.

Lena started dancing (ballet and modern styles) and singing from an early age, and appeared in several German television series.

She became known to the larger public when she participated in the German national selection for Eurovision 2010, Unser Star für Oslo. Appreciated for her unique voice and quirky personality, Lena eventually won the national selection with the song Satellite, written by Julie Frost and John Gordon.

Lena performed Satellite at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway, and she won the contest, earning 246 points.

In 2011, Lena represented her country on home soil at the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, reaching a respectable 10th place with her entry Taken by a stranger, with 107 points.

Lena has become a popular artist in Germany, releasing various albums and singles, receiving awards such as the ECHO and being (former) coach in The Voice Kids, and currently being a coach in The Voice Of Germany. She also works as a model for fashion and cosmetic brands and is working on her upcoming album Gemini.
