We are heading to Skellefteå tonight for Melodifestivalen’s 4th semi-final tonight, where 7 more acts will battle for the golden ticket to the Grand Final of the 2017 Swedish Eurovision national selection. Two acts will go directly to the final whilst 2 will go to the Andra Chansen round scheduled to be held in Linköping next week.

Are the Swedes heading for their 7th Eurovision victory this year? Loreen (Eurovision 2012 winner) is back in the game this year as she competes in tonight’s semi-final with her entry Statements.

Former Melodifestivalen participants Wiktoria and Jon Henrik Fjällgren are also vying to represent Sweden at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest and thus will be competing in tonight’s show too.

The Show

Tonight’s show will be held at the Skellefteå Kraft Arena in Skellefteå and will be hosted by Hasse Andersson, David Lindgren and Clara Henry. Seven songs will participate and the results will be decided by 100% televoting.

First, the top five will advance to a second round of voting, and then the first two places will go directly to the final, places 3 and 4 will get another chance in the Andra chansen round and the fifth place will leave the contest.

The Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2017 is scheduled to be held on Saturday 11 March at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
