The anticipation for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia (ESCA) is building, with the Grand Final set to electrify audiences on Saturday, 14 November 2026, at IdeaLive in Bangkok, Thailand. This marks a significant expansion for the Eurovision brand, bringing its unique blend of music and culture to the Asia-Pacific region. Organised by Voxovation under licence from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), in partnership with S2O Productions and host broadcaster Channel 3, the contest promises a spectacular debut.

A Packed National Final Schedule
The journey to the Eurovision Asia stage is already underway for many nations, with a thrilling schedule of national finals announced. Here’s a look at the confirmed dates for the selection shows:
- Tuesday, 11 August: Bhutan – Rhythm of Bhutan. Bhutan is set to be one of the first countries to choose its representative.
- Friday, 15 August: Malaysia. Malaysia opts for an internal selection, with their artist reveal scheduled for this date.
- Sunday, 30 August: The Philippines – Philippine Selection Night.
- Friday, 4 September: South Korea – Korea’s Next Wave.
- Saturday, 19 September: Nepal – Nepal Decides.
- Wednesday, 23 & Thursday, 24 September: Laos – Sieng Lao: The One (two-day selection).
- Sunday, 27 September: Thailand – Thailand’s Chosen One. The host nation will select its entry.
- Wednesday, 30 September: Bangladesh – Voice of Bangladesh.
While Cambodia and Vietnam are confirmed participants, their national final dates are yet to be announced. Ten countries are currently confirmed to participate in this groundbreaking edition, with more nations expected to join the lineup in the coming weeks.
The Eurovision Asia Format
The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia will feature a single Grand Final show. The winner will be determined by a familiar 50/50 split of professional jury voting and public televoting, mirroring the format of its European counterpart. Each competing entry must adhere to the classic rules: a maximum length of three minutes and no more than six performers on stage.
The journey to Eurovision Asia has been a long time in the making, with plans dating back to 2008. After various developments, the EBU and Voxovation officially announced the competition on 31 March 2026, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in the Eurovision story.
