In a tweet from France Télévisions it has been announced that the French entry for Eurovision 2016 will be presented for the first time on 12 March.

It has been announced that 280 songs were submitted to the French broadcaster and the lucky one has been chosen, as a photo from the videoclip shooting was published:

Also, for the first time this year, France 4 will broadcast both semifinals of the contest. It is the first time that it happens, as France used to broadcast only the semifinal it had to vote in.
