Melanie Rene has won Die Entscheidungsshow, the Swiss national final, which aired on the national broadcaster’s SRF channel. She will therefore represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in May.
Six acts battled to represent Switzerland at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest; each performing their potential Eurovision entry as well as a cover version of a famous song.
After the votes of the ten-member jury were combined with the public vote, it was Melanie Rene who emerged victorious with the song Time to shine.
Melanie will succeed Sebalter as the Swiss representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. Last year, he reached the final and finished in 13th place – bringing the country their best result since 2005.
