Birgit Õigemeel, this year’s Estonian competitor, has shared her thoughts on the outfit she will wear in Malmö for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Birgit will be wearing a flowing strapless white gown, embellished with large gemstones along the top of the bodice.  The head of the Estonian delegation, Mart Nomet, said that the clothing was very important for them, and the right dress had to be chosen to fit the song, and that if all the other competing countries emphasise the importance of costume, and Estonia do not, then this will be a huge failing on their part.

Karolin Kuusik is the designer of Birgit’s dress.  She says of the dress, it is simple, pure, feminine and a little sensual – these things are important.  No one else this year will be wearing such a distinctive dress.

Additional to the dress, underneath Birgit wears her lucky shoes.

These are the same shoes I wore in the Estonian national final, they are lucky.  Some people have lucky charms, but I have lucky shoes! says Birgit on her choice of footwear.

Estonia will be the second song competing in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, with the song Et uus saaks alguse.

Birgit has released four versions of her Eurovision Song Contest entry in different languages in the past week. For the Swedish and Spanish version go here and English and Russian versions here!
