Israel: Doron Medalie releases demo version for Toy

It’s time we heard this year’s Eurovision winning entry from a man’s voice! Doron Medalie, the famous Israeli composer and artistic director who composed and wrote the Israeli entry Toy together with Stav Beger, has today unveiled a demo version of his song.

With partially differentiated music and the replacement of the lyric “you stupid boy”, we are all set to enjoy a new cover of the Eurovision entry which won the hearts and votes of all Europeans, bringing next year’s 64th competition to Israeli ground next year. Do you like it?

About Doron Medalie

Doron Medalie was born in 1977 in Ramat Hasharon, Israel. An artistic personality from a very young age, he initially studied music and keyboards at the Yamaha music school, theatre at the Habima national theatre and performing arts. He later went on with his studies in screen-acting, Flamenco dancing, and also took Gaga classes.

He has joined forces with some the biggest names of his nation’s music industry, having composed a high number of smash hits. He has also been involved as a director and songwriter in well-known Israeli TV shows like Goalstar, A star is bornBolywood and Royal Chef.

Apart from his 2018 Eurovision participation, he has also directed three former Israeli Eurovision entries, namely those of 2008, 2010 and 2013, while additionally penning the country’s 2015 and 2016 songs for Nadav Guedj and Hovi Star respectively.
