Israel: Results of The Next Star seventh show

Another Sunday night, another The Next Star show has just drawn its curtains. As the Israeli national selection process is well underway, tonight sees a further 6 acts making it to the next round of the show, bringing the total number of qualifiers to 35 so far.

The 4-member judging panel made up Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat and Assaf Amdursky, had a 40% say in the final outcome of each auditionee, 10% coming from each judge, with every artist needing a minimum of 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote in order to advance in the contest.

  • Osher Bachta (83%, ‘Yes’ from 3 judges)
  • Lior Chen (89%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • The Yamanz (78%, ‘Yes’ from 3 judges)
  • Sama Jabour (74%, ‘Yes’ from 3 judges)
  • Bar Grotsky (78%, ‘Yes’ from 3 judges)
  • Keshet Ben Zeev (75%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)

Failing to qualify in tonight’s show was Lidor Ovadia and Roey Evgi.

There was a strong Eurovision connection in tonight’s episode of The Next Star, with the nephew of a former Israeli winner taking to the stage today: the nephew of Israel’s 1978 winner, Izhar Cohen, auditioned in the seventh episode tonight.
