The sixth show is over and we have a total of 3 new artists who have qualified to the next stage of the Israeli Eurovision national selection for 2018, The Next Star.

For the second consecutive night, Israeli channel Keshet has aired the fifth and sixth show of the country’s selection for Eurovision 2018, The Next Star.

In tonight’s show, a further 3 acts auditioned in front of both the viewing audience and the 4-member judging panel.

Made up of members Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat and Assaf Amdursky, each judge had a 10% say in the final outcome of each auditionee, with every artist needing a minimum of 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote in order to advance in the contest.

Three artists qualify in the sixth show

  • Shir Gadasi (77%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • Eden Newman Hyatt (94%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • Dori Halevi (56%*, ‘Yes’ from 2 judges)

*Whilst Dori Halevi received under the asking 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote, a new twist in the show saw the 2 hosts, Assi Azar and Rotem Sela, save the artist and therefore advance to the next stage.

Receiving the highest percentage of the ‘Yes’ vote in tonight’s show was Eden Newman Hyatt, who went on receive an almost-perfect score of 94% percentage, earning the back of all 4 judges! Check out Eden’s performance.
