Two songs are in the run to represent Germany: Wildfire and Perfect life, featured in a different arrangements for the artists.
The German final tends to be one of the most complicated selections featuring various qualification rounds in one show. This year’s selection is no exception, so hold on tight and try to understand tonight’s format.
- The five acts will sing cover versions for songs of their choice. Three will qualify.
- The three acts will perform Wildfire. Two will qualify.
- The two acts will perform Perfect life. The two acts have now performed each both entries. The best of the two for each act out of the four combinations will qualify.
- The two acts have each its only one entry in the run. The winner of the duel will represent Germany in Eurovision 2017.
Once again, the German lady of Eurovision, Barbara Schöneberger, will host the show live from Cologne and will air on Das Erste and EinsFestival from 20:15 CET. Webstream will be available on NDR’s official Eurovision website.
Although the 5 bidding acts will be performing to both the international public as well as a 3-member jury consisting of members Lena Meyer-Landrut, Tim Bendzko and Florian Silbereisen, it will be solely down to the German televote to decide which act will represent the nation at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
International fans are encouraged to vote and help Germany to choose its representative, free of charge using the official Eurovision app. Watch the video below for more information:
