Wilhelm ‘Sadi’ Richter, who was supposed to participate in the German national selection Unser Song 2017 on 9 February, decided to withdraw. The 21 years old Yosefin Buohler will replace him and join the other four candidates for representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

According to reports, the Jazz musician Sadi is accused of two fraud and theft cases. “I would first like to clarify and process this. Reports about me are causing so much hustle and bustle.” said Sadi in a report of the German broadcaster NDR. “I am amazed at what I am being accused of. I was totally looking forward to participate in Unser Song, but I do not want to do it under these circumstances”, he adds.

Yosefin Buohler, who will participate in the selection instead of Sadi, was born in Cologne 21 years ago. When she was 13, she reached the final of Das Supertalent on RTL, aka Germany Got Talent. Along with the musical Die 10 Gebote, she toured Germany for several years. She tried her success in Sweden, participating in Idol 2013 but getting eliminated in the early stages of the show. However, a month later she was singing the German anthem in the Friends Arena of Stockholm before the football match between Germany and Sweden as a part of the qualifications for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Yosefin focuses on the soul genre. Check out her performance from Idol 2013:
