Spain: Jaime Cantizano will host Objetivo Eurovision

TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster has announced today that Jaime Cantizano will host the forthcoming 2017 Spanish Eurovision national final- Objetivo Eurovision.

Jaime Cantizano is a very famous and established tv and radio host who enjoys great fame, name and recognition in Spain.

TVE will be holding the 2017 Eurovision Spanish national final in the coming weeks. Objetivo Eurovision is expected to be held in Madrid by mid February. The show will be aired live on TVE 1 and streamed live on rtve.es

The 2017 Spanish entry and act will be selected via public televoting and jury deliberation.

A total of 6 candidates will fight for the right to represent Spain at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. 5 candidates have selected by TVE via an internal selection whilst 1 was selected via a special selection Eurocasting 2017.

Mirela is no new name when it comes to Eurovision as she has been the runner up at a Spanish JESC national final and has competed several times in the Spanish Eurovision national finals. Her song is composed by Antonio Sanchez Ohlsson,Isaac Luke and Ander Perez. Antonio Sanchez Ohlsson was behind the Spanish Eurovision entries in 2007, 2012 and 2015 and has competed in the Spanish national finals several times.

Maika Barbero is quite a popular singer in Spain, having competed in The Voice Spain in 2012 where she gained much fame and recognition. She has also competed in the Baltic Song Contest. She has released an album with songs both in Spanish and English. Her song has been composed and penned by J.J. Santana and Rafael Artesero. J.J Santana was behind the 2009 Montenegrin Eurovision entry and has competed in the Spanish and many European Eurovision national selections. Rafael Artesero has been to Eurovision many times as a composer: Andorra (2005, 2006), Spain (2011), Belgium (2014).

Paula Rojo will be singing a country style song, which she herself has composed along with Alvaro Barcena. She shot to fame after her participation in The Voice Spain, after which she signed a contract with Universal Music Spain. She has released several albums and singles and has worked with Disney.

Mario Jefferson hails from the sunny shores of Malaga, his song has been composed by Chris Whale. Mario enjoys fame and name in Spain thanks to his participation in the X Factor in 2005 and Operacion Triunfo in 2010.

Manel Navarro is a 20 year old multi talented artist, who has composed his own entry in his quest to represent Spain at the 2017 ESC. He composes and sings his own songs both in English and Spanish.

LeKlein won the Eurocasting show with 60% of the votes. She has composed her entry Ouch! along David Ascanio, Albert Neve and Abel Ramos. In 2002 she won the coveted 40 Principales New Artist of the Year Award.

Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the competition twice in 1968 and 1969. The country has been competing religiously in the contest every year since its debut.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
