The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reports that Meital de Razon is expected to participate in the upcoming season of Rising Star, the Israeli national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Meital de Razon broke through the Eurovision world when she participated in Kdam Eurovision 2013. Both local and international fans expected Meital, along with Asi Tal, to make Europe dance with their entry Toda la noche. They managed to finish in the third place and didn’t make it to the actual contest.

Meital has previously worked with the well-known producer Offer Nissim, who was Dana International’s manager in the beginning of her career. She recently released her debut album and participated in the reality show Mission: Amazonas on Israeli Channel 2.

The reactions among the Israeli fans are mixed but tend to be positive. It is known that Meital de Razon is interested to fly the Israeli flag in the Eurovision Song Contest, but she will have to win Rising Star 2017 first, that is expected to kick off in January with a total of ten heats.
