Latvia: LTV opts for Supernova for Eurovision 2017; final on 26 February

LTV, the national Latvian broadcaster has confirmed today that Latvia will once again opt for Supernova in order to select its Eurovision act and entry. Thus it will be the 3rd time that the Latvians will select their Eurovision representative via Supernova.

The 2017 Latvian Eurovision national final- Supernova 2017 is scheduled to be held on 26 February. The Latvian broadcaster has published the rules and regulations for Supernova 2017.

Singers and composers wishing to compete in the forthcoming edition of Supernova can send in their applications to LTV as of today until 28 October.

  • 05/02- Supernova 2017- 1st Heat
  • 12/02- Supernova 2017- 2nd Heat
  • 19/02- Supernova 2017- Semifinal
  • 26/02- Supernova 2017 Final

Latvia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 and has won the event once with Marie N in 2002. The country successfully hosted the 2003 ESC in Riga.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 ESC have been set on 9, 11 and 13 May.
