Following over a week’s worth of voting, the Georgian entry has been decided! Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz will compete at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest for Georgia with the entry, Midnight gold.

Back in December, the Georgian national broadcaster, GPB confirmed that Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz had been internally selected to represent the country at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, where it was also announced that the Georgian song would be selected via a national final.

Over the following weeks, song submissions opened where the public were eligible to submit entries for the national final. The submissions were then shortlisted from 100 songs to a final total of 5 entries, which were each presented during the Communicator Show on the 3 February.

The public had 1 and a half weeks to vote for their favourite song entry for the band and following the closure of the public vote this evening, the votes were then combined with those of the international jury. Out of the 5 entries, it was Midnight gold which received the highest amount of combined votes and will therefore go on to represent Georgia at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
