The 2015  Spanish Eurovision entry Amanecer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 has been announced as the official song of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, the cycling Tour of Spain, as reported by rtve.es. The presentation just took place today.

Edurne will sing her entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 at the Grand Final on 23 May. But, as the interpreter herself said today:

Amanecer will not stop at the Eurovision Song Contest, because it will be the official tune of the cycling Tour of Spain, the Vuelta Ciclista a España.

The tournament, known simply as La Vuelta, is the yearly cycling competition that gathers cyclists and teams from all over the world travelling on two wheels around Spain during the summer. This year La Vuelta will hold its 70th edition, between 22 August and 13 September.

The tournament is assigned an official song every year. And through the Spanish broadcaster RTVE we learned today that the country’s Eurovision entry has been selected as the musical presentation of the Spanish cycling tour for 2015. The presentation ceremony, attended by Edurne, took place today in Nerja, where it was also announced that the official clip for the Vuelta will be shot in different spots of the province of Malaga. The shooting will begin on 15 April and it will be broadcast in due course by RTVE.

At the ceremony were also present the President of the Council of the Province of Malaga, Mr. Elías Bendodo; the Director General of Unipublic (the company that manages the organization of La Vuelta) Mr. Javier Guillén; and the Director of Teledeporte (RTVE’s sports channel), Mr. Carlos de Andrés.

Edurne is of course pleased with this achievement for Amanecer, which will play all along the summer, as the singer indicated, and it will provide a voice to the Vuelta.

Besides, in a conversation with RTVE’s show La mañana, it was pointed out that the Spanish Eurovision song has an epic tone that matches the setting of the cycling competition. You can picture the cyclists climbing up the mountains with the sound of Amanecer, said the presenter of the show.

The official song of the Vuelta Ciclista features in the promotional videos and presentation clips of the news reports around the tournament. Another Eurovision Spanish entrant, Pastora Soler, had her song Corazón congelado as the official track of the Vuelta in 2001.

Amanecer is the Spanish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. It will be performed by Edurne at the Grand Final on 23 May in the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
