İTV, the Azerbaijani national broadcaster, has revealed that Elnur Huseynov will be the official representative of Azerbaijan at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

Elnur Huseynov previously represented Azerbaijan at the country’s first ever Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 alongside fellow artist Samir Javadzadeh. With their entry Day after day, the duo qualified to the Grand Final where they received a total of 132 points, ending in 8th position.

More recently, Elnur auditioned in the fourth season of O Ses Türkiye (The Voice of Turkey), going on to win the competition with his coach Ebru Gündeş earlier this year.

Elnur was internally selected by the Azerbaijani national broadcaster İTV to once again represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Vienna. Elnur will compete in the second semi-final on the 21 May with his entry Hour of the wolf. Listen to the official Azerbaijani entry below!

Back in September, İTV confirmed Azerbaijan’s participation in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest to ESCToday. İTV later went on to reveal that the broadcaster would opt for an internal selection in order to decide who would represent the country in the host city of Vienna.

On the 13 March, İTV went on to reveal that 3 artists had been shortlisted as possible representatives for the country; Narmina Behbudova, Narmina Seyidova, and Elnur Huseynov. It was then down to a national jury to decide which of the 3 artists should represent Azerbaijan at this year’s competition.

Last year, Dilara Kazimova was selected via the national selection Böyük Səhnə to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Copenhagen. With her entry Start a fire, Dilara qualified from the first semi-final, ending in 22nd place at the Grand Final.
