The first semi-final of the Portuguese national selection concluded on the national channel RTP 1 with the three first participants that qualified for the final that is scheduled for next Saturday.
The Portuguese national broadcaster RTP has the three first artists in line for the final round on Saturday. 6 entrants competed tonight in the first semi-fnal of the Portuguese national selection, the Festival da Canção, for a place in the final and in the last lap of the race for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Two were selected via televoting and a third one was granted the pass to the final by the experts jury.
The first semi-final was opened by the first and the latest winner of the long running Portuguese music festival and Eurovision entrants António Calvário and Suzy.
After the performance of the six contending entries and the time allotted to voting, the hosts of the show Joana Teles and Jorge Gabriel unveiled the acts that had been chosen to qualify for the final of the Festival da Canção 2015.
The artists and songs chosen by the audience were:
- Leonor Andrade – Há um mar que nos separa
- Yola Dinis – Outra vez primavera
The artist and song chosen by the jury of composers was:
- Gonçalo Tavares – Tu tens uma mágica
Three more finalists will be selected with the same system in the second semi-final that will be broadcast live on 5 March, completing the line-up for the final of the Portuguese national selection, which will be held on Saturday 7 March. The winner of the Festival will be the Portuguese representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.
