Charlotte Perelli confirmed on television in Sweden last night that she would like to enter Melodifestivalen, Sweden's national selection competition for the Eurovision Song Contest. She did however stop short of confirming that it would be in 2008. Speaking on the Babben on SVT last night, she also sang her new single, Jag är tillbaks, which is translated as I'm back, which could perhaps be seen as an omen for 2008.

Charlotte Perelli, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1999 under her maiden name, Charlotte Nillsson with Take me to your heaven, confirmed that after rejecting approaches in the past to return to the competition, she has decided that the time might be right to participate again.

Asked about participating in 2008, Charlotte said “I can’t say very much, but earlier when I got asked about parcitipating in Melodifestivalen again, i had been denied. This time it’s different, now I think it would be very cool to take part again.” There has been much media hype about Charlotte participating with a song called Hero that was selected by the jury to participate in the 2008 competition.

Look out for another hint of Charlotte's return in the clip. The female backing singer,Andrea, sang as a backing singer with Charlotte in Jerusalem as part of the Eurovision Song Contest winning team.
