The Eurovision action from Estonia has concluded and the names of the first five Eesti Laul 2015 finalists are known!
The following acts have qualified to the Grand Final of Eesti Laul 2015, to be held at the Nordea Concert Hall in Tallinn on Saturday 21st February, and are listed next to their successful songs:
- Elisa Kolk – Superlove
- Elephants From Neptune – Unriddle me
- Robin Juhkental & The Big Bangers – Troubles
- Maia Vahtramäe – Üle vesihalli taeva
- The Blurry Lane – Exceptional
Karl-Erik Taukar, Miina, Liis Lemsalu & Egert Milder, Airi Vipulkumar Kansar and Bluestocking were eliminated from Eesti Laul 2015.
The qualifiers were determined using a 50/50 combination of Jury and televoting. The Jury was made up of music industry professionals from Estonia, including Koit Toome, who, with his entry Mere lapsed, represented his country at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest.
The show was presented by Helen Sürje and Indrek Vaheoja with added commentary from Mart Juur and Peeter Oja. A webcast was available via http://otse.err.ee/etv/ .
Fans chatted about the show via the official Eesti Laul Facebook page and Twitter, using the hashtags #eestilaul and #eestilaul2015. A selection of tweets were displayed during the show.
Wilhelm, Kruuv, Demie featuring Janice, NimmerSchmidt, Elina Born and Stig Rästa, Daniel Levi, Triin Niitoja & John4, Kali Briis Band, Luisa Värk and Mari will contest the second semi-final on Saturday 14th February, and five of those acts will proceed to the Grand Final.
Estonia will perform in the first half of semi-final one of the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, to take place at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria, on 19th May 2015.
