Albania: Alexander Rybak interval act in FiK 53

Alexander Rybak, the 2009 Norwegian Eurovision winner will be the interval act the the 2015 Albanian Eurovision national final- Festivali i Këngës 53 on Saturday 28 December.

The 2015 Albanian national selection- Festivali i Këngës will consist of a total of 3 shows (2 semifinals and 1 grand final)  scheduled to be held on 26, 27, 28 February at the Pallati i Kongreseve in Tirana. The Albanian music festival will be hosted by Liberta Spahiu, Turjan Hyska and Floriana Garo. A total of 26 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna in the 2 semifinals of FiK 53.

The winner of the 53rd edititon of FiK will be awarded the golden ticket to represent Albania at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest scheduled to be held on 19, 21, and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle. The 2015 Albanian Eurovision entry and act will be selected on Saturday 28 December during the grand final of FiK 53- the show will be aired live on RTSH 1 and will be streamed live on eurovision.tv.

Alexander Rybak won the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow with his entry Fairytale, bringing the contest to Norway for the 3rd time. Eurovision fans will be happy to know that he will be the interval act the 2015 Albanian Eurovision national final.

In 2014 Albania selected its Eurovision entry and act via Festival I KengesHersi won the golden ticket to Copenhagen with her entry One Night’s Anger, despite an energetic performance she failed to qualify to the grand final.

Albania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini. The country is yet to win the competition. Albania achieved its best placing in the contest in 2012 with Rona Nishliu’s Suus.
