Latvia’s national broadcaster LTV has revealed that eminent local music industry names Kaspars Roga, Dons and Guntars Račs will make up the Jury of the new talent show Supernova, which will determine Latvia’s Eurovision Song Contest entrant at Vienna 2015.

Supernova, which replaces previous Eurovision selection show Eirodziesma, is a contest created with the aim of finding outstanding new vocal talent and heart-capturing songs of both national and international appeal.  Supernova 2015 will consist of four live shows, with the introduction show to take place on 2 February 2015.  Read more about Supernova’s schedule and format here.

Kaspars Roga is drummer with award-winning Baltic favourites Brainstorm, who famously represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest of 2000.  Their charming entry My star marked Latvia’s very first appearance at Eurovision, and finished in third place at the Grand Final of the Stockholm-hosted competition with a total of 136 points.

Dons is a successful Latvian performer who can boast of completely sold-out concerts and various national music accolades.  Watch his Eirodziesma 2014 entry Pēdējā vēstule below:

Speaking to ltv.lv, each man is enthusiastic and welcoming of the ambitious project ahead.

Latvia has made a total of fifteen Eurovision appearances since debuting with Brainstorm in 2000.  Their best result came in 2002, with victory for Marie N’s I wanna.  Latvia was last represented by Aarzemnieki, whose gentle Cake to bake finished in thirteenth place at the first semi-final of Copenhagen 2014.  Watch their performance below:
