MTVA the national Hungarian broadcaster has revealed the last set of 10 acts who will compete at the 2015 Hungarian 2015 Eurovision national selection- A Dal 2015. Hence we have the complete line up for A Dal 2015 consisting of a total of 30 acts.

The 2015 Hungarian national selection will consist of a total of 6 televised shows (3 Heats, 2 Semifinals and  1 Grand final) scheduled to be aired on MTVA between January and February. The Hungarian national selection will kick off on 24 January and will conclude with the grand final on 28 February.

MTVA announced the names of the last 10 lucky A Dal 2015 hopefuls today on the radio. Last Monday the Hungarian broadcaster revealead the first 10 candidates for A Dal 2015 during  a special press conference in Budapest whilst the 2nd set of 10 candidates were revealed on Wednesday on a radio show. The Hungarian broadcaster has received a total of 350 entries for its 2015 Eurovision quest. A 10 member jury evaluated all the received entries and shortlisted the number to 30. Hence 30 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna in the 2015 Hungarian Eurovision national selection- A Dal 2015.

The 2015 A Dal Jury

The 2015 A Dal jury will consist of 5 members: 4 members will be 4 persons from the music industry. The 5th member will be a mobile application where the public will cast their vote via mobiles phone. The Hungarian broadcaster has decided to move with the times and bring in their national selection to the era of technology. More details will be released in due course.

The 2015 A Dal jury will consist of : Pierrot, Jenő Csiszár, Magdi Rúzsa (Hungary 2007) and Philip Rákay.

The Format

A total of 30 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Vienna. The 2015 Hungarian national selection will consist of a total of 6 televised shows ( 3 heats, 2 semifinals and 1 grand final). 10 acts will compete in each heat. 6 acts from each heat will qualify to the semifinals ( 5 via jury vote+ 1 via televoting vote).  A total of 18 acts will battle in the semifinals (9 in each semifinals).  The exact number of acts qualifying from the semifinals to the finals is yet to be announced.

In 2014 Hungary selected its Eurovision entry and representative via a national selection. Kallay Andras Saunders won the golden ticket to Copenhagen with his entry Running, achieving an honorable 5th place in the grand final.

Hungary debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and is yet to win the contest. The country’s best placing in the event was achieved during its year, was a 4th place in 1994 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin with Frederika Bayer’s’s Kinek Mondjam Al Vetkeimet!

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
