Following the release of their seventh album Septième Ciel last October, rock band les Fatals Picards are to tour France.

Dates at venues across the country, from Paris to Montpellier, and starting on 1 November, were confirmed recently on the band’s website. A full list can be seen here.

Les Fatals Picards represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song L’amour à la française. They finished in 22nd position at the grand final. Last year, the band spoke to French website challenges.fr about their experience at the contest. Arriving on the stage made me think of the movie Gladiator with Russell Crowe, said the band’s drummer Jean-Marc Sauvagnargues. We had to go through all sorts of stages before finally standing in front of the screaming crowd in the arena.

Before Eurovision, there were about 500 people at our concerts, he went on, explaining the impact the competition has had on the band. Afterwards, there were about a thousand. And that’s the average number we get today. We sold about 30, 000 copies of our last album before Eurovision, and we sold 45, 000 copies of the one after.
