RTVSLO, has confirmed  to ESCToday that Slovenia will participate at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna next May, after having initially submitted a preliminary application for participation to the EBU.

The Slovenian broadcaster  is yet to determine the method and mechanism it will use to select its Eurovision entry for Vienna. More details will be released in due course.

In 2014 Slovenia selected its Eurovision entry and act via a national final- EMA. Tinkara Kovac won the golden ticket to Copenhagen with her entry Round and round.  She placed 25th in the grand final in Copenhagen.

Slovenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with IX Band and is yet to win the event. The country’s best its placing in the competition has been a 7th place achieved in 1995 with Darja Svajger and in 2001 with Nusa Derenda.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.

The official list of participating countries at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is expected to be released by early January by the EBU.
